Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on court had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an better service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.

The pair traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He defended 4 initial opportunities in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
