David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of questionable actions involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
