Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Instagram

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
