Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
