The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed title that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for delighting in violence and madness with equal glee, all while telling engaging, politically driven tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose work have embodied all of those things.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' structure by having a fresh setting and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their constant confidence and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a premise,” said Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the essence of society through this intricate and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual bold, visionary approach to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
